Without Borders Inc. is a nonprofit organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to provide immigration legal services through its Accredited Representatives. Guided by a commitment to integrity and compassion, we work to ensure immigrant families and individuals have access to professional, affordable, and trustworthy legal support. Our team is authorized to represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and, where fully accredited, before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
Beyond immigration representation, Without Borders is dedicated to empowering communities through education, outreach, and essential document services. By combining legal expertise with community-centered support, we help individuals navigate complex processes with dignity, clarity, and confidence. Our mission is to contribute to citizenship and inclusion through accessible, safe, and transparent education and immigration processes, promoting human dignity and freedom.

Adriana Backhaus
President & Authorized Officer
Adriana Backhaus is the President and Authorized Officer of Without Borders Inc., With 20 years of experience in immigration law and nearly a decade in the nonprofit sector, she has led business immigration, deportation defense, and family-based cases while also strengthening community programs and mentoring new professionals. Known for her thoroughness and compassionate advocacy, Adriana is dedicated to providing accessible, community-centered services that empower immigrant families to build secure and successful futures.
Valeska Freitas da Silva
Vice President & DOJ Accredited Representative
Valeska da Silva is the Vice President of Without Borders Inc. and a DOJ-Accredited Representative with over 26 years of experience in immigration law. She has extensive expertise in family-based petitions, consular processing, humanitarian relief, and employment-based immigration, bringing a broad perspective to her work and to the leadership of the organization.
Cristiane Barreto
Advisory Director
Business consultant with over 20 years of experience, writer, and instructor in Management and Leadership. Holds a PhD in Social Psychology, a degree in Business Administration, and specialization in Strategic People Management and Jungian Psychology in Organizations. Certified in Board Governance with multiple international certifications in neuroscience, business management, advisory boards, and organizational behavior.
